Wedding Flower Commissions
Preserve the cherished memories of your wedding day with bespoke casts of your blooms.
Remember, recycle and reuse your precious bouquet and wedding flowers with bespoke casts to cherish for generations. Katy’s unique casting technique captures the essence of your blooms, transforming them into timeless keepsakes.
Katy will work with you, or your florist, to make sure there are suitable flowers in your bouquet for casting. Katy always trys to solely use flowers from your bouquet to create the cast, but if any have been damaged in transit or are too wilted then we can supplement identical fresh flowers to create your cast.
Katy can also cast your bridesmaids’ flowers, perfect as a thank you to those who have helped make your day perfect. Bridesmaids' casts are a little smaller, and there are various sizes and finishes to choose from.
There is also the option of using any leftover flowers to create a set of small hanging casts, which can be gifted to family or friends who have played a special role in your day.
How it Works
-
Contact Katy with as many details as possible about your wedding date, flowers, florist and the quantity and types of casts you would like to start the process. Katy will then be able to recommend in-person collection or shipping. Get in touch here.
-
Casting your bouquets takes time and it is a process that cannot we rushed. Katy accepts wedding commissions on a first come, first serve basis and is only able to fulfil a certain number of commissions a month.
A 50% deposit is taken on booking to secure a place in Katy’s casting diary. Postage costs and the final 50% will be invoiced before the casts are shipped. If there are any issues with the flowers and the cast cannot be made, your 50% deposit will be refunded immediately.
-
In order to create an abundant composition Katy will need at least 15 - 18 stems from your bouquet. Some brides like to send the whole bouquet while others prefer to select favourite stems to send.
Katy will need the flowers within 48 - 72 hours of your wedding so that she can make sure the stems have not perished before they are cast.
Unfortunately not all flowers are suitable for casting, some are too delicate or leave too subtle an imprint. Large roses and Peonies - two bouquet favourites - sadly are the least suited to casting so it won’t be possible to include these in the bridal cast. Smaller headed roses or lisianthus work well as an alternative to larger roses.
-
Katy will work with you to advise the best possible solution for getting you bouquet delivered as quickly as possible after the wedding, either by courier, hand delivered by someone who has been at wedding or dropped off by your florist. Katy offers a collection service within Edinburgh and Fife for £15, or if you are getting married outside Edinburgh/Fife then please get in touch to organise a pre paid postage option.
For this, Katy will send you a bouquet box filled with packaging materials - all you have to do is keep the bouquet in water overnight after the wedding, pop it carefully into the box and pack it securely. Katy will then arrange a courier to collect the box from your address or venue. It will then be couriered using a 24 hour service and Katy will aim to cast it the day it arrives.
-
Katy offers a range of bespoke shapes (arches, scallops, ovals, large landscapes etc) so please get in touch if you are looking for something a bit different. You can opt to have your cast framed or hand painted (or both!). Once made, the casts take 8 - 12 weeks to dry out. Once they are ready, Katy will either arrange a drop off/collection or post out. Please note there is an additional cost to post and Katy will send a postage quote to you and add the total to the final invoice. International shipping is available.
